Michelle has the honor of leading a team that is focused on creating experiences that help USAA members to spend less than they earn, borrow wisely, and start to save so they can achieve financial security. Her team is responsible for all advice capabilities related to basic personal finance such as budgeting, debt management and emergency savings.
Michelle has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her USAA career started as an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner, working directly with members to facilitate their financial security. For the last 13 years, she has been a leader in the Financial Planning and Advice realm and she has been instrumental in driving major initiatives resulting in operational and performance improvements.
Michelle earned her BBA with a concentration in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and her MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) practitioner and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. She also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. She is dual certified as both a Certified Product Manager (CPM) and a Certified Product Marketing Manager (CPMM). Michelle also holds Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
Michelle enjoys giving back to the community and has been mentoring students at Business Careers High School for over 10 years. She is a member of the United Way Women's Leadership Council and Emerging Leaders Council.
Michelle feels blessed to have an amazing family keeping her very busy - Murray, her husband, her two daughters, Natalie Grace and Emily Faith, and her "rescued" pets, Alex, a Ragdoll cat, and Bailey, a border collie mix. She enjoys watching college football (especially UT - Hook 'Em Horns!), taking boot camp, kickboxing, dance, and yoga classes, and snow skiing.
