Sherry James, PMP is a leadership and program management consultant with extensive experience across a broad spectrum of industries, including retail, telecommunications, business intelligence/big data, software development, and healthcare. Since 2000, she has worked as an executive coach and consultant creating leadership curriculum for organizations large and small. Her passion for mentoring Millennials has taken her around the country in the last few years speaking on topics that will bring together multiple generations around projects and programs that are beneficial to all involved.
Sherry currently works as a consultant managing strategic program planning in employee engagement, application development, portals and collaboration, enterprise social, and gamification. Prior to this role, she was Director of the Project Management Organization at Fort Worth-based Buxton Co., where she managed the end to end development of the current PMO. She has also served as training/project manager at 7-Eleven and AT&T. As a member of Project Management Institute since 2009, Sherry has held various leadership roles for the Dallas PMI chapter. She is currently Vice President of Professional Development, managing several teams responsible for developing and facilitating classes/courses/workshops dedicated to leadership and soft skill development. She is actively engaged in the speakers’ circuit on topics related to leadership, communication, and team development, and works providing executive coaching support to C-level executives. Sherry is married with two children, a 25-year-old registered nurse and a Pokemon-collecting first grader.
