Errica Rivera joined State Auto in March of 2008 as the Director of Talent Acquisition where she was charged with the mission of establishing the recruitment function for the organization and the oversight of diversity and inclusions initiatives. Shortly thereafter, Errica transitioned to the role of Community Relations Officer where she was held responsible for the identification, evaluation, planning and execution of community relations partnerships, including charitable donations, foundation management and corporate sponsorship opportunities. Armed with a passion for people and community, Errica now serves the organization as a Human Resources Business Partner supporting the Western and Southern Regions. Errica is responsible for providing strategic people management support by collaborating with Regional Management teams and the Strategy and Organization Effectiveness (SOE) team to design and implement customized solutions to promote associate engagement, development and retention and the attraction of the best and brightest talent for our organization.
Prior to joining State Auto, Errica was employed by Reach Media Inc. of Dallas, TX (parent company of the Tom Joyner Morning Show) as the Director of Business Operations, Nationwide Insurance as a Director of Recruiting and Staffing and Coca-Cola as a Youth Market Manager, Career Development Manager and Regional Project Manager/Spokesperson for the Olympic Torch Relay.
Errica is actively involved in the community as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), Lincoln Theatre Board of Directors (Columbus, OH), National InVEST Board of Directors (Washington, DC) and Founder/President of the Harding University African American Alumni Association. Errica is a graduate of Harding University where she earned a BA in Business Marketing and is also a certified Strategic Human Resources Business Partner (s-HRBP). Errica and her husband Ruben have two beautiful children – Ruben III ‘Tres’ (age 10) and Natalia ‘Romi’ (age 4).
