Cynthia Rushing is a Finance professional with over 25 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. She has spent 18 years at Shell in various Finance and Strategy roles. She is currently the Upstream MI Financial Performance Manager. She debriefs Investor Relations with the key highlights on the UA financial performance to ensure accurate messaging to the market.
Prior to this assignment, she held various roles in Shell as Strategy Manager, Operations Delivery Manager, Business Development Manager, Finance Consultant and Business Analyst. In these roles, she was able to create high performing teams, implement key metrics, improve operational productivity, reduce operational cost, develop winning proposals, perform contract management, create financial models and provide strategic guidance.
In her role as an ambassador for diversity, Cynthia has led the global effort to develop a diversity and inclusive plan for a Shell Finance Services, served as the Global D&I Sponsor for Shell Employee Services and the Chair for the Shell Multicultural Women Inter Network. She hosts several mentoring circles and passionately mentors others. She also served as the founding board member for the National Diversity Council.
A native Houstonian, Cynthia earned a MBA from Rice University and B.S. in Accounting from University of Houston. She is Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She has completed several leadership programs. Active in her community, she has held several board positions with Sugar Land and Missouri City Girls Softball Association. She has 2 daughters, Brittany and Allyson.
