Amanda focuses her practice on tax-exempt finance, urban development, and tax-exempt organization issues. In her tax-exempt finance practice, Amanda advises clients on state law and federal tax issues in tax-exempt bond transactions that involve non-profit borrowers, industrial borrowers, hospital borrowers, municipalities, independent school districts, governmental entities (i.e. ports), mobility authorities, colleges and universities. In these tax-exempt financings, Amanda serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, borrower’s counsel and disclosure counsel. In her urban development practice, Amanda provides general counsel advice to special governmental districts, including tax increment reinvestment zones, local government corporations and municipal management districts. Finally, Amanda provides legal counsel to non-profit organizations regarding obtaining and maintaining tax exempt status and related issues.
Amanda served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Ivan L. R. Lemelle of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
