Allen has spent the last 36 years working both in the government sector (South Dakota Dept of Health) as well as in corporate America. Allen’s experience working for Accor Hospitality since 1991, has given him the opportunity to travel and speak on the topic of learning and customer service both nationally and internationally. He has spent time in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, France, Hungary, Netherlands, and the UK, working with local teams on the development/deployment of leadership learning content for both online and classroom delivery modality. Allen is not only an experienced Instructional Designer but an accomplished classroom facilitator of Ken Blanchard and Steven Covey leadership content. While working for Accor Hospitality, Allen received two Special CEO Awards for the development and deployment of online leadership and revenue management content.
In February 2010, Allen left the corporate culture to venture out on his own to develop a consulting business, ACD Learning Solutions. As a consultant, Allen is working with companies such as WalMart, Unilever, Alcorn Laboratories, Ken Blanchard, SkillSoft, MindLeaders, Learning Guide Solutions, Senior Net, Interviews to Win, Power Presentations and Career Connections.
Allen is originally from Hyde Park, NY where he was raised with two brothers. Following graduation from high school, Allen joined the US Air Force where he was trained as an aircraft control specialist. Upon leaving the service, Allen graduated college in South Dakota. Over the next 20 years, while working for the Dept of Social Services and the Dept of Health, he and his wife raised one daughter. They moved to Texas in 1994 while working for Accor Hospitality.
